 Governors led by Jackson Mandago Uasin Gishu, Alex Tolgos Elgeyo Marakwet, Prof. John Lonyang’apuo West Pokot and Patrick Khaemba Trans Nzoia County, pledged to push for Nanok to continue as Chairman of Council of Governors."We want to enjoy the seat of Chairman of Council of Governors as North Rift countries, we, therefore, assure Nanok will continue to serve us" Mandogo said. Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba urged the National Government to speed up road construction of Kitale -Lodwar road. "The completion of the road will ease transport of goods and improve movement of people." Khaemba disclosed.Prof. Lonyang’apuo Promised to work with Nanok on matters of insecurity along the border of West pokot and Turkana over cattle rustling and banditry. "we shall unite as North Rift counties to preach peace along the border and ensure we have a good solution of cattle rustling and banditry that has caused many problems to our people." He narrated. Nanok assured residents of Turkana that he will deal with his pledges that he made. "My government will ensure people get domestic water, irrigation agriculture and livestock use."We have tried our best to ensure you got our services such as water for both domestic use and for livestock use, but we feel its not enough, my government will deliver. He also said education will be the first priority to Turkana child." More schools will be build up for smooth education programmes to ran on" He said. "The Council will resume talks aimed at ending the long Nurses’ strike and portrayed that the devolved units lacked funds to pay nurses. I have confidence that the Council of Governors and National Government will unite to ensure nurses resume work" Nanok explained.He also said that County government in conjunction with UN agencies and other development partners. Additional resources will be found to ensure the county gets enough food and solve the water shortage that has hit the region.Nanok called upon his rival John Munyes to join him to preach peace and improve the image of Turkana county since politics are over.The inauguration was also attended by Senators-elect Prof. Malik Ekal of Turkana and Samuel Poghisio of West Pokot counties, Members of Parliament-elect John Lodepe (Turkana Central), Jeremiah Lomurkai (Loima) and Ali Lokiru (Turkana Central) Also in attendance was a delegation from Uganda, Ethiopia and South Sudan.
