The Jubilee Senator has termed a recent surprise visit of Raila Odinga to retired President Daniel Moi’s home in Kabarack as part of the ploy against DP Ruto.

Speaking during a breakfast show at Radio Citizen on Thursday, Cherargei claimed Raila was planning to replicate the 2002 scenario where President Uhuru Kenyatta, then in KANU vied against NARC’s retired President Mwai Kibaki.

“During the homecoming of Tiaty MP Asman Kamama, the Kisumu Central MP gave a hint on what Raila is planning by saying they want 2022 to be a repeat of 2002. They are planning to have Gideon Moi on the ballot against the DP,” said Cherargei.

“Because Raila knows he cannot be President that is why he wants to also ensure DP Ruto does not succeed President Kenyatta,” he added.

The youthful Senator, however, insisted that Ruto’s presidential bid is unstoppable noting that Rift Valley region has already decided who their presidential candidate will be.

“As Rift Valley, we only have one candidate for president in 2022 and that is William Ruto, any other person should hold his/her horses until 2032,” he said.

“Someone like Gideon has a long way to go before being President, he will probably need to vie for the gubernatorial seat, then Deputy President before thinking of the statehouse race,” added Senator Cherargei.
