A section of North Rift leaders has sent messages of condolences to the family and friends of the late Eldoret Catholic diocese Archbishop Cornelius Korir who died Monday morning.
"Bishop Korir was a man of the people who championed for peace, not only in the region but across the country. As Uasin Gishu leaders we will miss his services," said Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno."I am very saddened by his demise. I want to send a message of condolences on behalf of people of Elgeyo Marakwet to the family and friends of Bishop Korir. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He really helped us to bring peace in Kerio Valley," said Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos.Uasin Gishu County Secretary Peter Lelei eulogised Korir as a father of peace who wanted this country to have peaceful elections."We will miss him especially this time when the country needed his service due to the division and political temperatures being experienced in the country," added Moiben MP Silas Tiren.
