President Uhuru Kenyatta has been asked to go on with his efforts to bring together all Kenyans irrespective of their political and regional differences.
Deputy President William Ruto further says leaders and Kenyans, especially from the North Rift region, will fully support the President's initiative.
Speaking at the Eldoret Sports club grounds during the burial mass of Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop Cornelius Korir, Saturday, Ruto commended the President for working towards having a peaceful and united country.
The DP said since President Kenyatta ascended to power in 2013, Kenyans have become more united than before.
"To you Mr. President, we want to assure you that as people of North Rift, we will stand firm with you as you work on building the bridges of friendship, brotherhood, and unity in our country that you started in 2013," Ruto said.
"Today we are seeing a greater unity in our country even as we see threats from different territories. We have all seem what tribalism, divisions, and hatred can cause to us and as leaders, we commit to saying never shall we go that route again," he added.
