Political analyst Charles Munyui has defended the ongoing election amendment Bills by both the National Assembly and the Senate.

According to the analyst, the amendments are not a Jubilee affair but a matter of concern for all Kenyans. He believes the amendments will help avert another annulment of the presidential election in the country.

Furthermore, Munyui reiterated that not all Kenyans are opposed to the amendments. In his view, the country should not be subjected to elections every 60 days in case the Supreme Court annuls every presidential election held.

"The amendment Bills are not a Jubilee affair but a Kenyans affairs. The amendments will help seal all lacunas that may lead to the annulment of every presidential election. After all, not all Kenyans are uncomfortable with the Bills," said Munyui.

Munyui, however, differed with the opinions that faulted the timing of the electoral laws amendments.

The analyst made the remarks on Wednesday during a political discussion on NTV where he pointed out that the process cannot be illegitimate just because of a lack of a joint sitting committee between Jubilee and NASA.

"The whole process cannot be illegitimate just because there is a lack of a joint sitting committee between Jubilee and NASA. This is a parliamentary process whose timing is fine," added Munyui.
