Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has said Jubilee's alleged attempts to scare NASA supporters from turning up to vote on August 8 will not bare fruits.

Speaking on Tuesday when he met members of the Luo community, Joho said despite the government allegedly using various tactics like imposing curfews to scare away voters, opposition supporters will turn up in large numbers to vote on Election Day."Not even a bomb will stop us on August 8, we will be at the polling stations and we will vote," said Joho. The Governor rubbished claims there will be violence during and after the elections in the Coast region, and accused Jubilee of spreading false information to the public. "Who said there will be violence? Ignore Jubilee's scaremongers. Jubilee leaders are aware they are going home after the elections and are now in panic mode,” he said. The outspoken Governor urged members of the Luo community to rally behind NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga to ensure he wins the elections. On their part, the community members led by Luo council of elders chairman Willis Otondi endorsed Joho for a second term."We have to re-elect Joho since he has always been with our son Raila who will be the next president,” said Otondi.
