A key road linking Mjini-Kariobangi to Kitui road has been indefinitely closed after huge cracks degenerated into wide and dangerous rifts along the main bridge just a year after it was constructed in Machakos town.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has distanced itself from the recently built bridge with its developed wide cracks putting the users' lives in danger.
In a harsh hitting message directed at controversial blogger Abraham Mutai, KeNHA said the project was not sponsored by the jurisdiction of the Machakos County Government.
It was an embarrassing moment for the blogger who had used harsh words against another blogger who had shared the pictures of the Kariobangi-Sokoni road bridge which is a life-threatening bridge because it is putting lives in danger.
Mutai had rubbished the blogger and accused him of always attacking Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua for the things which are not true claiming that the governor usually does shoddy works.
KeNHA said the road is not under their jurisdiction.
The road is under the mandate of Machakos County Government, implemented under the Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Project (KISIP), which is funded by the World Bank.
