Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has said that Deputy President William Ruto will be the next President after Uhuru Kenyatta's term end.
Mandago speaking in Eldoret on Sunday dismissed claims that Mt. Kenya region leaders are plotting to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta with one of their own.
"Some politicians are good in spreading propaganda and hatred. As Jubilee party, we don’t listen to false information being spread by egocentric leaders. Ruto will be the next president and those lying to Kenyans that leaders from the Kikuyu community won’t support Ruto for the presidency should wait and see what will happen in 2022,” said the Jubilee Governor.
He reiterated that DP Ruto has massive support across all corners of the country.
“Ruto will not have hard times to campaign because he has traversed all regions in the country to initiate and launch development projects. He is well known by even nursery kids hence making his plan to become President in 2022 very easy,” said Mandago.
He challenged the Kalenjin community to unite for the sake of making Ruto the next president noting that unnecessary fights on who between Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Ruto will replace President Uhuru Kenyatta may make Kenyans change their minds and support a different candidate.
“As a community, we need to decide now on who should succeed Uhuru. Small fights within the community are dangerous and likely to have a negative impact on Ruto’s Presidential ambition,” said the vocal county boss.
