[Photo/standardmedia.co.ke]Days after being endorsed by the Kamba elders and the Muslim community to contest for the Machakos Woman Representative seat, Senator Johnson Muthama’s ex-wife Agnes Kavindu now says that Ukambani is a Jubilee zone.
Speaking to journalists in Machakos Town on Wednesday, Kavindu said that Jubilee is the only hope Kamba’s have for development.
The woman Representative said that nothing will stop Kamba’s from endorsing UhuRuto’s bid on August 8.
She asked the opposition to keep off and forget about Ukambani.
“My advice to NASA is that they should look for votes elsewhere because Ukambani is purely Jubilee zone,” she said as quoted by the Standard.
Kavindu said that Kamba’s have suffered for years in the hands of the opposition.
She observed that poverty levels and unemployment remain high in the region.
Kavindu asked the Kamba community to stand with Jubilee and denounce leaders who she said are only good at rhetoric.
The Jubilee Machakos Woman Representative pledged to spearhead the interests of marginalized groups if elected on August 8.
Kavindu is eyeing to unseat incumbent Dr Susan Musyoka who lost the Wiper nomination ticket to Joyce Kamene in the nomination.
Musyoka will be seeking re-election as an independent candidate.
Others in the Machakos Woman Rep race are Francisca Mutinda, vying on Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) Party, and Jane Ndeti vying on Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU).
