Police in Mombasa have arrested a notorious brug baron said to be the main supplier of heroine and cocaine in the region.
Confirming the arrest, Likoni OCPD Willy Simba said the suspect, Mohammed Said alias Swash, was nabbed alongside three others at his hideout in Shikaadabu.
Simba said police have been tracking Swash and five other drug lords in the region, who have evading arrest.
The OCPD lauded the officers who made the arrest, terming it as a step forward in the fight against drug trafficking in Mombasa County.
According to Baraka FM, the suspects were arrested while holding a meeting, believed to be about their supply strategy.
This comes after police in the area seized a car with Ugandan number plates, which is said to belong to a suspected drug baron.
The silver Prado, which was seized in Mtongwe following a tip off from members of the public, was taken to Likoni Police Station.
