National Police Service [NPS] has embarked on a programme of ensuring that all police officers countrywide have the necessary capacity and integrity in discharging their duties.George Kinoti who is the spokesperson said the NPS is committed to ensuring that all police officers are not caught up in any quandary incidences as it has been.Addressing the media on Friday in Nairobi, Kinoti said that NPS is coordinating with other related bodies to mount an intensified medical check-ups to ensure that police officers are mentally qualified to serve Kenyans with exemplified decorum.''We have come up with a workshop which is expected to look into details whether our police officers are mentally motivated so that we can eliminate dire reports that we have been getting concerning our security personnel.Police officers are human beings and they have issues confronting them as you do.That is why we are doing this to help them solve issues troubling them so that they can perform better,''he said.This comes a time when police officers have been severely accused of using excessive powers in performing their duties and being suicidal as a way healing their troubled lives.He said the process is set to commence on next week countrywide.
