The National Transport and Safety Authority has announced new traffic regulations, and warned all those found breaching the same.
Much of the regular rules have been reviewed, and particularly Public Service operators will be most affected by the new guidelines.
According to the new regulations, all those operating PSVs without necessary licenses will be fined Sh5,000, while the owner of the vehicle will part with Sh10,000.
Touting has also been listed in the new rules, attracting Sh3,000 if found.
In the new rules too, any motorist who exceeds the speed limit by more than five kilometres per hour will only be served with a warning, exceeding limit by six to 10 kilometres will force you to part with Sh500, Sh5,000 for 11-15kms, and Sh10,000 for 16-20kms.
Motorists found obstructing or inconveniencing others will be slapped with a Sh10,000 fine, while those found blocking pedestrians will be fined Sh500.
These rules will come as relief to many Kenyans and as hope in the transport sector, with cases of road carnage on the rise on different roads across the country.
