National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended Nairobi's Marimba Sacco from operating in the city after a crew from one of the matatus allegedly beat a man, Joseph Kiarie to death. “Following the murder of Mr Joseph Kiarie on December 24, 2017, the Authority notifies the public that the operator’s licence of MARIMBA INVESTMENT has been suspended with immediate effect,” read the notice in part. The Friday notice by the Transport and Safety body also warned that the Matatus should not operate and that should they ignore the orders then the matatu will be impounded. "Any vehicle belonging to the company and found operating contrary to this suspension will be impounded," he warned.Meja also directed the Sacco to convene a meeting between its members and the authority.
