The NTSA director general, Francis Meja said that among the vehicles are five ambulances that will be used to ferry accident victims on the road to the hospital. Other 40 vehicles are station wagons.

The cars will mostly be used to monitor the behaviour of matatus like those who like evading traffic rules. He also said the vehicles are important to the transport sector as he thanked the government for the vehicles.

NTSA has been working hard to reduce numbers of accidents happening on the roads.

A few weeks ago, NTSA reports revealed that most of the accidents that happen on the roads are caused by drunk driving. However, some were caused by people not using foot bridges while others were caused by over speeding of drivers. This led to NTSA coming up with a list of minor offences penalties to curb careless behaviour on the roads.
