The National Transport and Safety Authority is grappling with claims that its officers took bribes from the ill-fated PSV that was involved in a grisly road crash along the Mwingi-Nairobi road. The crash claimed the lives of five people.Passengers in the ill-fated bus, licensed to operate along the Githurai route, who survived the carnage said that the bus was stopped by NTSA officials who then allowed it to continue moving in spite of its unroadworthy condition. They suspect that bribes were paid.NTSA, however, has come out strongly to rebuff the bribery claims saying that its officers took no bribes.
