The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has listed some of the roads where accidents are likely to occur during this festive season.The identified highways, areas are along the Nairobi-Nyeri-Isiolo, Nairobi-Embu-Meru, Nairobi-Mombasa, Nairobi-Malaba, Nairobi-Narok-Kisii-Migori and Nairobi-Naivasha-Gilgil-Nyahururu roads.The transport and safety body has also launched crackdown on senseless roads users in bid to curb the death cases during this season.Assistant Deputy Director of Road Safety Harold Aden said NTSA will be visiting such areas on the look out for drunk drivers."We have partnered with the police and mapped out major roads across the country. We are not here to inconvenience passengers but take care of them on the road," Aden stated.Speaking during a crackdown along Thika Superhighway, Aden said 290 lives were lost along the superhighway in December last year."Let us all be responsible and observe discipline on our roads. Our intent is not to arrest but to talk with the motorists on dangers of reckless driving," Aden concluded as quoted by Kenyans.co.keDrunk drivers are one of the main targets of the crackdown, with officers using alcoblow to identify them.
