[Photo|NTSA]The NTSA has impounded a 14-seater matatu following an incident where a 3-year-old Moses Obuya, was pushed from the matatu as it was in motion by the conductor. The incident occurred on December 25 when he, alongside his mother were travelling from Kisumu to Othoro in Homa Bay County. The boy's mother Serfine Omondi said the matatu, registration number KCM 239K, stopped briefly when she signalled the conductor to stop but sped off immediately before the boy alighted. The conductor then hurriedly pushed the boy out asking him to alight fast as the vehicle allegedly owned by a police officer, was in motion.‘’The conductor who was in a hurry pushed the boy who fell on the tarmac. When I protested, the conductor said that there was nothing I could do as the vehicle is owned by a police officer,’’ narrated the mother. In response to social media uproar, NTSA on Thursday said the vehicle had been impounded and arrested the driver and conductor."We have impounded the vehicle and arrested both the driver and the conductor. The two will be arraigned in court tomorrow (Friday December 29)," NTSA said.
