National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has postponed the countrywide rollout of third identifier sticker for vehicles. The initiative was to kick off today Monday 2.
However, NTSA Director General Francis Meja announced that this would take part at a later date. He did not disclose the next scheduled for this rollout.
According to Meja, the implementation is planned to take place in three phases. Phase one kicked off in July targeting second-hand vehicles and first-time vehicle registration.
“In the second phase sticker will be issued to all vehicles that will undergo motor vehicle inspection on their due dates. This has been postponed to a later date,” Meja said as quoted by Nation.
Meja promised to collaborate with the insurance sector to help private motorists get the third identifier when they renew their insurance covers.
