The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has denied claims of laxity in implementing road safety regulations following a rise in road accidents across the country.
NTSA Director General Francis Meja has distanced the authority from the allegations
Speaking on Citizen TV on Monday night, Meja blamed road users for failing to adhere to the laid down road regulations.
“The NTSA has done what it needs to do in regards to implementing road safety policies and it should not be blamed on the mistakes made by road users,” he said during the interview.
Meja observed that the authority has been carrying out road sensitization campaigns in efforts to tame road carnage.
“As an authority, we review and implement road policies so that we can curb on carnages and ensure the safety of all road users,” he said.
