The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has responded in an incident where a former Maseno University student leader was beaten to death by matatu conductors in Nairobi.

The incident happened after a matatu operated by Marimba and Zuri Sacco hit the late Kiarie's car. 

A scuffle ensued between the former student leader and crew of the matatu before he was beaten to death. 

Through a statement issued on Wednesday, NTSA said the incident is being treated as a criminal matter and is being investigated by the National Police Service.
