The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has revoked licences of five public service vehicles Sacco's for non-compliance with laid rules.
According to the authority's Director General Francis Meja the Saccos licences were revoked due to continued speed violations.
The affected Saccos include Kisumu AheroMowouk Sacco, Daima connection Ltd Sacco, Narok line services Sacco, Sema stage Sacco nad Mwingi travellers Sacco.
"The Sacco's have not complied with the requirements as stipulated in te operations of public service vehicles regulations Act of 2014. The authority hereby invokes section 34 of the Act and suspends the operator licence," read a statement sent from the authority.
Following the suspension, NTSA ordered police officers to impound any vehicles from the Saccos found conducting business.
"The traffic Commandant is hereby informed to impound any vehicle belonging to the names PSV Saccos found operating in contrary to the suspension," read part of the statement.
