The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has revoked operator licences of five Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Saccos over non-compliance with its Act.

In a statement to the media, NTSA Director General, Francis Meja, said that the licences were revoked following continued speed violations involving the five PSV saccos.

“The Saccos have not complied with the requirements as stipulated in the operations of public service vehicles regulations, 2014.The Authority hereby invokes section 34 of the NTSA Act and suspends the operator licences,” read the statement.

The five saccos whose licenses were revoked are: Kisumu AheroMowouk Sacco, Daima Connection Ltd Sacco, Narok Line Services Sacco, Sema Stage Sacco and Mwingi Travelers Sacco.

The vehicles are now set to be impounded following the orders from the NTSA.

“The traffic commandant is hereby informed to impound any vehicles belonging to the above PSV Saccos found operating contrary to suspension,” said Meja.
