NTSA should ban tracks from operating at night
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) CEO Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa has urged the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to ban tracks from operating at night.
He said they are the main causes of accidents on our roads.
“I want to urge NTSA not to allow tracks to travel at night they should only be allowed from 6 am-6 pm since 80 percent of road accidents are caused at night by night,” he said at MTRH hospital, Friday.
“We are tired of accidents on a daily basis, something needs to be done to stop this mess because many innocent lives are being lost,” he added.
He, however, urged drivers to be careful while ferrying passengers and avoid causing accidents putting in mind that they are carrying people and not luggage.
“You should have a clear mind free from alcohol and stress, should also make sure that your vehicle is serviced properly. I want to wish all Kenyans a merry Christmas and a happy new year,” noted Dr. Aruasa.
