Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has called on the national government through NTSA to introduce fresher courses for public service vehicle drivers.

The ODM governor speaking at Nyamira Primary school grounds on Thursday during a requiem mass for Narok accident victims.

“There are drivers who have been driving for the past 3o years without undergoing the required modern training. 

"We want such drivers trained afresh or they be sent home so that new drivers who have modern driving skills be allowed to drive on our roads to reduce the number of accidents being reported daily,” he said.

Nyagarama urged drivers who have attained retirement age to accept and rest to allow junior drivers to join the transport sector.

“Old drivers should accept to retire because they are the same people causing accidents on our roads due to their old age," he said.
