On both his Twitter and Facebook pages, Madowo says it has been nearly four years writing for the column but for the first time, they have refused to print his column.

"This week, the Daily Nation refused to print my column for the first time in nearly 4 years," wrote Madowo.

The vocal Journalist went on to slam the Daily Nation that the same article they refused to print has been published by CNN.

"The irony aside, the same piece is now published on CNN," Madowo wrote.

The article entitled "Why it is a perilous time to be a journalist in Kenya," highlights the events that occurred to the media before, during and aftermath of Raila's "swearing in".

Madowo on his article published by CNN under edition.cnn.com/cnn/2018/02/09/africa/kenya-press-freedom-madowo/index.html narrates the tough times they, journalists, encountered.

He says they had to spend the night in the NTV newsroom after the police unit in plainclothes blocked exits of the iconic Nation Centre building in Nairobi.

"My colleagues and I had to spend night in the NTV newsroom as the Police Unit were roaming around the Nation Centre building", wrote Madowo.

His post has attracted a lot of mixed reactions from his followers.

On Twitter, one wrote, "Just quit NMG and work at CNN.

"Another wrote, "Birds of the same feathers flock together, a fake reporter and a fake news network."

Stephen wrote, "No better way. This article illustrates exactly what is ailing our press freedoms...."

Larry Madowo is currently working for NTV as a news anchor and as a Technology editor. He is a very active social media user.
