A court order from High court has directed the contractor that took the tender to construct the Southern bypass not to interrupt the Nubian community residing in Kibera slums.
The contractor was ordered not to force the community to leave their area of residence since the construction of the Southern bypass will touch the various plots where the community is living.
The Nubians has filed a case in court opposing their eviction from their plots since the construction of the road will force them to move and the construction of the road was started without their knowledge.
The hearing of the case will be in October 18, this year.
