A section of Nubians in Kibera have called on IEBC chairman. Isaack Hassan not to exit office.
Speaking on Monday at Makina, the Nubian Community accused the opposition of misusing power to force the commission’s officials exit office.
'‘How could Cord push for the exit of the commissioners by saying Kenyans lacked trust in the commission. It should have substantial evidence pointing out that the commissioners have failed on their side. It is quite hard to prove that the Isaac Hassan led team failed,’’ said Hussein Ahmed.
Zainabu Amina, who led the debate, accused the opposition of putting their interest first and not of the country.
‘’Kenya is bigger than each of us. If the opposition really wanted the IEBC commissioners vetted, then only those who were recommended by the EACC to be alleged culprits who led to the 2013 mistake should be the only ones to go home. Hassan and other commissioners are cleared by the EACC.They should not exit office at all,’’ said Amina.
Abdul Maimuna asked the government not to allow the opposition hold any other meetings that will just favor them.
