President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to be sworn in on Tuesday, next week, with preparations for the same in top-gear.

The organizing committee is looking to ensure there are as many heads of state as possible, to fully give the event the status it deserves.

As of Saturday, government officials were talking of some 26 heads of state and government who have either confirmed their attendance in person or indicated they will send a representative.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister is among those expect to attend the ceremony, in which president Kenyatta will receive instruments of power.

According to reports from Israel, Netanyahu is expected to fly into the country on Tuesday, and leave same day after the inauguration of Kenyatta.

NASA leader is among those invited as well, even though he might not attend with the coalition planning to hold a parallel rally on the same day.

The other six presidential candidates have also been invited for the function, which will cost the tax-payer Sh300 million.

The event, which will be held at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani Stadium, is expected to have a huge attendance, and there are plans to have other Kenyans watching from the outside of the stadium on huge screens.

NASA have insisted that they do not recognize president Kenyatta’s presidency, saying he won unfairly as many Kenyans did not participate in the election exercise.
