According to the station's presiding officer Omondi Ochieng, the 17 inmates who voted represent 17.3 per cent of the registered voters.The prison's polling station has a total of 78 registered voters. In the August 8 polls, 71 prisoners participated in the exercise.Ochieng noted that the voting exercise did not experience any challenges."We have not experienced any hitch here. The exercise went in smoothly," said Ochieng.The female prison produced three voters out of four. The fourth registered voter according to the stations presiding officer Irene Mokano had been released from the prison."The one who didn't vote was released. We expect her before the end of the exercise," Mokano said.
