The incident occurred recently where reports by the Education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi revealed that the arson was intentional and not accidental as purported by the school administration.
There is, however, speculation that the girl who allegedly caused the fire is a daughter of a powerful official in the government.
The girl appeared before the court last week denied the allegations and was released on a bond.
This comes when this year's candidates are expected to sit for their national examination a couple of weeks from now should the repeat of the presidential election not interfere.
The students of Moi girls returned to school last week after a short break to cool the tension among the students following the unfortunate incident.
