It is now evident that the tarmacking of the Nunow-Madogashe road is set to be finalized by end of 2016 and will open up the NEP region to both domestic and foreign investors.

According to Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, Jubilee administration is committed to investing in the region that has been neglected for decades by the past regimes.

Speaking at a fundraising in Adamasajide ward, Wajir County on Staurday, Duale announced that two roads are currently being tarmacked in the region, disclosing that they shall be completed by the end of this year.

“Nunow-Madogashe road will be done by end of this year, the Mandera-Elwak road is on course and the certificate of Madogasge-Wajir road will be delivered within this month,” Duale said.

The tarmacking project of the 160 kms Nuno-Modogashe road in Garissa County has widely been envisaged to not only boost trade within the various trading centres along the route, but also to other major towns in the North Eastern region.

The Sh6 billion-road was commissioned by President Kenyatta early this year during his tour to the region.

Many regional leaders including Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden have since lauded the project.
