A Nakuru-based nurse was on Thursday arraigned before the Resident Magistrate Court in Nakuru to face charges of stealing drugs from her employer. The court under the precision of Chief Resident Magistrate Patrick Mwaniki heard that Gladys Wamboi 35, who worked at St. Antony Hospital was arrested by security at the hospital in Nakuru Sub-County in possession of drugs worth Sh30,000 which she intended to stock in a private clinic she runs. The prosecution desk told the court that the accused took the drugs from the hospital store on the night of December 8 while on a night duty and stuffed them in her handbag. According to the prosecution, the hospitals administration had ordered for more investigations into the matter and the accused was found in possession of drugs at her clinic at Maili Sita business centre which she could not reveal the source. The prosecution said that the hospitals administration identified the drugs as belonging to the hospital and which had been reported missing some time back in November. The accused denied the charges and was released on a Sh50,000 bond. The case will be heard on January 8 2015.
