Keriako Tobiko, Director of Public Prosecutions, has made an application to have the man suspected of shooting a nurse to death in cold blood to be subjected to a mental examination.

Joseph Njoroge, the suspect, will be remanded in custody at Industrial Area Prison remand. 

Mr. Mungai appeared in court and was not required not to plead to the charges pressed against him by the state.

Catherine Mwaniki, State Counsellor, asked the judge on the case to order the suspect be remanded for two weeks.

Defence lawyer Chris Ombeta expressed the defence's intention to apply for a bond for Mr. Njoroge.

''You will be remanded in custody until December 27 to undergo a mental examination.'' Justice Lessit ruled.
