[Photo|Wakili Arap Sang]Nurses in Nandi County have agreed to resume duty, almost 100 days after nurses countrywide downed tools.Governor Stephen Sang held fruitful talks with the nurses, Tuesday, after which they agreed to go back to their work stations."Among the demands we are going to sort out include the issue of delayed promotions where we have agreed that they will be awarded their promotion letters on Friday," Sang said.He also assured them that they his administration would pay them all salary arrears and allowances and that they would not be victimised by the county government. "A healthy Nandi County is a wealthy county," he said.Governors had threatened to sack all striking nurses, on claims that their strike was unconstitutional.Through Acting Secretary General Maurice Opeto, Kenya National Union of Nurses, however maintained that they would press on, until their grievances are settled.
