The Kenya National Union of Nurses (Knun) has announced it will join the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) in a nationwide strike, starting Monday midnight.
Knun Uasin Gishu County branch chairman Simon Bii said nurses had also issued a 21 days nurses strike which commences on Monday nextweek.
He said nurses would not report to work until the government increases their salaries as it was agreed.
This even as the Council of Governors successfully petitioned the Court to block the doctor's strike.
A short communication from the Council confirmed that governors had received a Court order, blocking doctors from commencing with their planned strike, on December 5.
"Council of Governors have been granted a court order suspending the doctors strike for 30 days and an injunction against the nurses strike,'' CoG said, Friday.
The doctors demand that the government implements a Collective Bargaining Agreement, that was signed in October this year.
