Panyako said the three are not mandated to sign any binding agreements in the union on the strike issue.

“This should be a unanimous agreement with all the seven officials and not the three that went ahead to call off the strike,” said Panyako while speaking in Kakamega on Sunday.

The strike that was called off on Sunday by health cabinet secretary Cleopa Mailu and the three union leaders in a joint press briefing received immediate rejection from Panyako.

"I want the whole county to know that the strike is still on until the national governing council decides otherwise, my colleague’s decision to call off the strike is driven by greed since they did not follow the right procedures,” said Panyako.

He said proposals reached during talks between the union and the government will be presented to the council on Monday for discussion before a final decision is made.
