The cold-blooded killing of Dr. Faustine Mwadilu by his patient shocked the nation out of its wits, with many puzzling over how a mentally-challenged patient was allowed in a health facility with a gun.
Nurses in Mombasa have now called for the facility where Mwadilu was shot dead failure to which they would mobilise nurses around the country to go to the facility and close it.
''We are saying very clearly that if the hospital is not closed by Monday, nurses across the country will go there and close it.'' The seething nurses said.
The cold-blooded murder has laid bare the loopholes in gun control in Kenya with many now calling for measures that would make it harder for individuals with mental issues to own guns.
