Uasin Gishu County health workers have agreed to have a dialogue with their county government.

The health workers through the Kenya National Union of Nurses Uasin Gishu branch said they will hold talks with the county to have their issues addressed.

Through their county chairperson John Bii, the health workers said that they will give dialogue a chance before taking other actions.

Bii said that health workers are facing a myriad of challenges that the county government should address.

“We have received calls from the top county officials inviting us for dialogue on issues facing us,” said Bii.

He added that there is need for the county to make sure that health workers are taken care of to avoid strikes.

County governor Jackson Mandago has on several times said that the county is keen to promote welfare of health workers.

The governor has also said that his government has set aside enough money to equip hospitals, health centres and clinics across the county.
