The Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) officials in Uasin Gishu have called for the removal of the unions National Secretary General Seth Panyako.
The officials claim Panyako has failed to represent nurses and instead focused on embezzling public funds.
Led by the KNUN National Chairman John Bii and Uasin Gishu branch chairman Simon Kibii, the officials said Panyako was no longer fighting for nurses but for his stomach.
“Panyako has been a disguise, last year nurses were duped that he was fighting for their welfare through a CBA but now it is 9 months down the line and nothing has been done, he just took nurses for a ride and for his own benefit,” said Bii during a press conference in Eldoret town, Thursday.
“For the success of any organization, leadership is key, nurses are suffering because of poor leadership and enough is enough we want to take leadership of the union for sanity to prevail,” added the Uasin Gishu branch KNUN branch chairman Kibii.
The officials also accused Panyako of using union’s Vehicles for his private activities especially when he was campaigning for the Kakamega Senatorial seat in last year's general elections.
