Speaking during the launch of the Uasin Gishu health strategic plan on Wednesday, Mandago said the union is bringing down health services by calling for its reversal to the national government through frequent strikes over delayed payment, poor working conditions and promotions.

"For sure, devolved health has only been on course for only three years now and we are still streamlining the services for the betterment of the health sector. Cases of delay in salaries also affects workers in the national government," he said.

He added that the county government is in the process of promoting nurses and that their files have already been forwarded to the Ministry of Health.

"I understand that some nurses have not been promoted for over ten years. Devolution was in existent at that time, but we are working round the clock to ensure that it is effected. Nurses should not be deceived by their union officials that we have refused to appraise them," he added.

He urged the union's boss to be sincere in fight for the rights of nurses.
