Nyabururu Girls secondary students spilled into Kisii town streets on Thursday morning to protest the interdiction of their Principal Ms Emelda Onchenge by the Teachers service commission.
Madam Ochenge is said to have received a letter of interdiction on Wednesday from Kisii county TSC education officials.
It is alleged the action was taken over corporal punishment in the institution where one of school student was injured some weeks ago.
Most of the students who protested are Form four candidates who are expected to start their examinations next week and said they want the principal reinstated before they return to class.
Students braved 5 kilometers walk from the school located at Nyamataro area to downtown Kisii where they camped outside the education offices waiting to see County TSC director Martin Bunde.
Bunde had not shown up to address the students who awaited his response but the source said he was committed elsewhere.
The Unrest begun early on Wednesday night after news filtered out of the principal's interdiction, police were quickly called and ordered the students back to the dormitories.
A section of school students claimed to have been injured during their confrontation with the police on Wednesday night.
