Former Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution chairman Charles Nyachae has asked residents of Kisii County to turn up at the 2017 ballot to vote out Governor James Ongwae.
Mr Nyachae who is leading the Jubilee re-election campaign Kisii County accused Ongwae’s government of corruption and mismanagement of office.
Speaking at a fundraiser held at the Nyosia Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nyaribari Chache constituency, Nyachae asked the Kisii county residents not to re-elect Governor James Ongwae on grounds that he has not brought development to the region.
“I ask the people to ensure that they send Governor Ongwae home come the next elections, as he has no development record despite the national government sending funds to the counties,” he said.
His sentiments were echoed by Senator Chris Obure who said that he unsatisfied with how Ongwae was spending county funds.
“For instance, the county government allocated funds for buying cows for women in the county but when I follow up I can’t see the cows,” he said.
