Barely a week after angry anti-Jubilee youths cut short his speech, former Constitutional Implementation Commission chairman Charles Nyachae has challenged politicians to embrace tolerance ahead of elections.
Nyachae, who is seeking Kisii senatorial seat, was on Friday forced to leave abruptly in a well-attended rally at Menyinkwa in the outskirts of Kisii town.
But the Jubilee presidential campaign chairman, Nyanza region says politics should not be used as an avenue to propagate hatred among locals.
“In politics, we must at all-time embrace tolerance because we cannot agree all times. It’s my humble appeal that our youths understand the delicate environment we are operating on,” he said at Bomachoge on Tuesday.
Nyachae, whose father, Simon Nyachae, served in government for years added: “Let us disagree based on principles and in elections, the winner takes it all.”
Interestingly, he will be competing against his father’s sworn enemy Sam Ongeri, who ditched Jubilee for ODM a few weeks ago.
He also backed Senator Chris Obure’s gubernatorial bid insisting that he would ‘sort’ out the alleged mess under the leadership of James Ongwae.
