According to some of the county residents, they said Governor James Ongwae has worked and brought development to the county, and they believe if he is given another chance to work for five more years, the county will shine in terms of development.

Chris Moreri, a businessman at Suneka said that the governor has a good track record, and all they want is to see him get office for another five years and then consider Nyachae for the top seat that he has showed interest in.

“We know Nyachae is influential and has a good track record, but all I know he is still young and he can wait until 2022 so that he can join politics swiftly,” he added.

Kepher Onyancha another resident from Mosocho added that they have felt the beauty of devolution under Ongwae, and they believe given more time in office he will ensure the county develops more.

“Look at where Kisii town and other small towns are in terms of development, we are proud of Ongwae and we want him to get in office,” he added.

Nyachae recently showed interest in the top county seat, a contest which is expected to be hot as Ongwae enjoys support from the ground while Nyachae enjoys support from other leaders.
