Former Constitution and Implementation Committee Chairman Charles Nyachae was on Friday evening sworn in as an East African Judge.
The function was held in Kampala Uganda and was attended by East African head of states.
Mr Nyachae was nominated by President Kenyatta and the announcement made by State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu.
"Jubilee has nominated Mr Charles Nyachae as a judge of the East African Court of Justice; to be sworn in at event in Kampala," he said.
Already by Friday Afternoon, Mr Nyachae's nomination was praised by gusii leaders both from the Government and in the opposition.
Mr Nyachae served as the chairman in the constitution review committee until his term was over.
He started campaigning for the Kisii Governorship seat before changing mind and running for the senate seat on a Jubilee ticket.
However, he lost to Senator Sam Ongeri.After loosing the election, Mr Nyachae was selectes as the Jubilee campaigner in the presidential repeat polls.
He also unsuccessfully contested for an EALA position.
The outlawed National Resistance Movement has already downplayed his nomination.
