The immediate former Commission on Implementation of the Constitution (CIC) Chairman, Charles Nyachae's political forays to Bobasi constituency and his secret political meetings with Kisii Senator Chris Obure ahead of the 2017 elections have raised eyebrows.
The latest confession by Nyachae to Bobasi electorate that he feels at home whenever he is in Bobasi constituency has raised more questions than answers on what is in the cooking between the younger Nyachae and Kisii Senator Chris Obure who for many years remained a political nemesis of the elder Mzee Simeon Nyachae.
Addressing mourners on Friday evening at Obure's Nyambunwa village of Bassi Chache Ward in Bobasi constituency during the burial of three family members who died in a road accident. Nyachae publicly declared Obure as the community's respected elder and senior most politician whose political counsel and direction should be taken seriously.
"I respect our Senator Mzee Obure as the community's elder and a respected senior most politician from the community whose experience and wisdom we must rely on while consulting on the community's political destination in the coming elections," stated Nyachae.
Nyachae's sentiments were interpreted to point to an offing political alliance between him and Obure who is believed to be eyeing Kisii Governor's seat in the forthcoming elections, with political speculation in the area that Nyachae could be eyeing the Kisii senate seat as he prepares to inherit Obure's Bobasi constituency voting bloc in 2022 when he is believed to run for Kisii Governor's seat as Obure serves as a transitional Kisii County Governor.
