Speaking on Tuesday at Risa primary during a burial ceremony, leaders, mostly of previous regimes, criticised the John Nyagarama-led government of discriminating some regions the county in official appointments.

Led by former councillor Julius Nyachieo, they said Kitutu Masaba constituency was a casualty during appointments to various executive positions in the county.

“It is true that they took meat and left us with bones. This constituency has the largest voting block hence we should have been considered during senior appointments, which is not the case right now though,” he said.

“We are not bitter of the governor but we want to remind him of regional balance in his appointments. We don’t want to go into details but it is evident that Kitutu Masaba has not gotten a fair share,” said former MP Mwancha Okioma.

They vowed to use voting numbers in 2017 elections to support one candidate for the gubernatorial position as a way of dislodging Nyagarama from power.

“Kitutu Masaba has over 80,000 registered voters, twice the number of West Mugirango and Borabu combined. The rest can be filled by a running mate from elsewhere. We will not repeat 2013 mistakes of fronting three people for gubernatorial post,” added Okioma.

Both Governor John Nyagarama and Senator Mong’are Kennedy come from West Mugirango constituency and according to the leaders, over four county executives are allegedly from the constituency.
