Nyamira County government has been challenged to invest more in the Health sector by acquiring sufficient drugs and health equipment in all health centres.
Speaking on Tuesday in Nyamira town Bogichora MCA Beuttah Omanga said that county government of Nyamira has received enough money from the National Government to use in the Health sector.
He said Governor John Nyagarama must ensure the Health sector is not neglected after receiving the money allocated by the National Government.
The MCA says it is embarrassing when residents travel to hospitals outside the county in search of healthcare when the Nyamira government was in a position to reduce the cases.
“I am asking the Nyamira County government through our Governor John Nyagarama to invest more in our health facilities by acquiring enough drugs and modern machines in all health facilities,” said manga
“Nyamira government already has received money to use in the Health sector; let the government take care of our people in this county,” he added.
At the same time, the MCA challenged all healthcare personnel in the county to always provide quality services to patients that they receive in their health centers.
He challenged Nyagarama to ensure the welfare of health workers in the county is looked into to prevent strikes while urging to use proactive measures against disagreements that could derail healthcare service provision.
