Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama on Thursday at Nyamira Primary school grounds said his administration has waivered all the hospital and mortuary bills for the deceased persons.

“We cleared hospital and mortuary fees for the nine victims and the county government will buy coffins and provide transport to the families to take the bodies for burial at their respective homes,” said the ODM governor.

According to Nyagarama, to reduce the number of people losing their lives through road accidents new drives should be properly trained to curb road carnages.

“Some drivers who were trained over 30 years ago are still allowed to drive on our roads. It is time the government should move with speed to ensure new drivers are trained and the old ones sent to a compulsory retirement due to their several years of stay in the transport sector.

"The government should also introduce fresher courses for public service vehicle drivers,” said Nyagarama.
