Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has refuted claims that youths have not been employed in his government as a 'fallacy'.
Speaking during the pre-annual devolution conference at Sironga girls on Thursday, Nyagarama bitterly dismissed the claims and said most of the employees in the county are youths.
Nyagarama said his government has employed 70 youths as agricultural extension officers, 230 and above nurses,155 employed nurses through Afya Plus and 406 ECDE teachers employed, and a further 406 ECDE teachers projected to be employed.
"Those who claim that my government neglects youths are propagating fallacies," he said.
"My government acknowledges youths as critical in its progress and so far we have deployed as much youths as possible in different sectors," he added.
"So far we have employed 70 youths as agricultural extension officers, 230 and above nurses,155 nurses under Afya Plus and 406 ECDE teachers projected to sum up to 806 teachers," added Nyagarama.
The county boss also asked the public to lias with him and monitor progress of different sectors in his government and report incidences of incompetence of assigned officials to relevant ministries.
"My plea to Nyamira County people is you aid in monitoring progress and report cases of incapacity of different government officials to the executive," said the governor.
